Martin County Courthouse, Inez, KY
Martin County is not much more than a collection of hamlets nestled among the hills alongside the river. The current population of the county, only about 13,000 souls, is only about two thousand more than found during World War II. The courthouse at Inez is the centerpiece of the village. On the lawn rests a small obelisk erected in 1956 by the local American Legion Post. It remembers those friends and neighbors that died while serving from World War I through the VietNam era.

The county courthouse sits at the very center of the village, proudly serving its citizens as did the veterans
recognized by the small memorial.
