Most Americans do not realize that Michigan is very rich in Colonial history. Michigan began counting its' sons and daughters in uniform starting with the the French and Indian Wars. The resting places of men of the Colonial Line can be found throughout the state. Fort Michilimackinac, at the tip of the mitt, is a must see destination for those who really want to learn the military history of this state.

The point is made that Michigan has always, and strongly, joined the line in defense of the nation. And since the days of the American Revolution, the Constitution of The United States has been upheld with pride.

Ride Around America Project

It takes more than one or two days each year to truly honor our veterans and active duty service personnel. Ride Around America is a four year project that will visit veterans memorials in each of the 3,059 counties of the lower 48 states. The intent is to show that America is not only proud of its' military veterans, it remembers and appreciate their sacrifices as well.

The memorials will be indexed and documented here, the RAA site will be the presentation point for travel itinerary, stories of veterans, and general information about the project.

Obviously not all states/county listings will be available immediately. They will be indexed and presented in the order they are visited - it takes a while to travel 130,000 miles and photograph 4,000 monuments!
